About

My artwork and photography hone in on fleeting moments in life to represent my experience as someone who forms deep connections and finds sentimental value in the smallest things.

I love details. In my art, the details and easter eggs hold the best stories. My art explores the intricacy of memory in even the most fleeting experiences. As someone who thinks in fully rendered movies, I am perpetually creating thumbnails. I find that inspiration for my artwork comes from the small, often overlooked details of everyday life: a crumpled piece of paper torn from my notebook, airplanes reminding me of SFO, ants crawling on me amidst an infestation.

As someone who lives between cultures, I visited China every year during my childhood. Later, my economics research at SCCEI with Professor Scott Rozelle brought me around the world to various developing cities. During my travels outside of research, I make sure to visit urban centers, less-developed cities, and everything in between. My camera accompanies me from the sprawling lavender fields of Furano and the tropical reefs of Roatan to the cobblestone path of Brussels and the rice plantations of Zhushan. Through the lens, I document the community I find outside of the comfort of the Bay Area. When the paved road gives way to dust and stone, the real adventure begins.

I am currently a high school senior at The Harker School in San Jose, California.
